Abstract

Copper indium sulphide(CIS) nanoparticleswereprepared usingultrasound-assisted precipitation, bysimultaneous addition of reagents. TheCu-Inratioswas varied in order to study its effect on morpho-structuralcharacteristics of CIS.Depending on the composition, the surface area of CIS powders varies between 35.3-114.3 m2/g and theenergy band gap between 1.4-2.9eV. The morphology, structure and optical properties of the samples were highlightedby UV-Vis spectroscopy, XRD, TEMand BET analysis. The experimentalamount of Cu-In ratio was determined based on ICP-OES resultsand the energy bandgap is calculated from UV-Visspectra using Tauc’s relation.
