Abstract
The Mn-doped ZnTe nanoparticles were synthesized by solid-state reaction, and the effects of Mn-doping on their physical properties were studied. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy spectra reveal a slight band shift from Zn-Te-Mn stretching. UV-Visible studies reveal that the band gap of ZnTe (2.11 eV) narrows to 2.06 eV with Mn doping, while higher calcination temperatures increase the band gap again. The band gap of ZnTe can be tuned through Mn doping and calcination temperature, enabling application-specific optimization. These results emphasize the role of Mn doping in tailoring the properties of ZnTe and enhancing its potential for visible-light photocatalysis and optoelectronic devices..
