Abstract

The ZnF2 content dependent glass structure has been discussed based on fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. The influence of ZnF2/ZnO ratio on the optical properties of Eu3+-doped fluoro-borosilicate glass has been investigated. It is found that the red emission increases with the enhancement of ZnF2/ZnO ratio. The Judd–Ofelt (J-O) parameters (Ω2, Ω4) have been evaluated from the recorded emission spectra. The Ω2 and Ω4 parameters increase with the ZnF2/ZnO ratio, due to the increased symmetry of Eu3+ sites..
