Abstract

Graphene is an allotrope of carbon in the form of a single layer of atoms that presents special properties, of interest for electronic, optoelectronic, and energy storage applications. In this paper, we prepare flexible freestanding graphene networks using nickel foam as substrate in a chemical vapour deposition process with methane as carbon source. Different deposition times were used to obtain graphenewith thicknesses from few-layer to multilayer, the controlled number of layers being an important aspect for their use in various applications. After nickel etching, the freestanding graphene networks were investigated by SEM, EDS, XRD and Raman spectroscopy..
