Abstract
The paper presents results concerning the synthesis of a double perovskite in the CdO-In2O3-Nb2O5 system. The lattice parameter of the mixed oxide was estimated by means of a hard sphere model in order to determine if the formation of the double perovskite is favoured in the above system. The reaction evolution was monitored by means of thermal analysis, Xray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy. The results confirm the formation of the double perovskite and are close to those indicated by the proposed model..
