Abstract

A series of novel indolo [2,3-a] carbazole derivatives as small molecule luminescent compounds were successfully synthesized by bromination and Suzuki coupling reaction, and characterized by thermal analysis, UV absorption spectra, fluorescence emission spectra and quantum calculation texting. These compounds have a high decomposition temperature (Td=317-369°C) and good thermal stability. They exhibit stable blue light emitting both in dilute solutions and solid films. By density functional theory (DFT) calculations, these compounds have wide energy levels, good electron injection and transport capability..
